Why we built this

Walk through George, Cape Town, Joburg, or any town in between, and you'll find businesses running entirely through WhatsApp and Instagram — a home baker taking orders in her DMs, a hairdresser booking clients through voice notes, a mechanic quoting jobs over a chat thread. These aren't side hustles. They're real businesses, run by people who know their craft inside out.

But the software built to help "small businesses" almost always assumes you're already running a shop with a till, a website, and a bookkeeper. It's built for a business that doesn't look like yours — too complicated, too expensive, or both.

Hustle Chommie is what we wished existed: something between Notion and QuickBooks, sized and priced for one person running a real business from their phone.

What we believe

• Your business shouldn't have to change to fit the software. If WhatsApp and Instagram are how you sell, the tool should slot into that — not replace it.
• Simple beats "powerful." We'd rather you actually use three features well than ignore twenty you never asked for.
• Offline happens. Load-shedding, patchy data, dead zones — software for South African hustlers has to expect that, not assume it away.
• Affordable isn't a discount version of good. It's the whole point.
